I did not like this cake at all! The consistancy was corking (very cake like) but the huge serving and was not sugariness plenty for my tastes.Information technology was fabricated edible by having ice foam with it, but I definately won't attempt it again. EDIT* I know I said I would never try this once again merely I was desperate for piece of cake chocolate cake and then I read the other reviews and decided to alter information technology a little and see what I came upward with. I simply added 1/ii cup of carbohydrate and 1T of cocoa. The consequence was a wonderful chocolatey cake with a great consistancy. Given the improvments I would modify my rating from ii stars to 5 stars.

I don't know why the tough reviews. I judge it was just because of the lack of sweet to it. Withal, once you lot add extra sugar,(abt 1/ii cup actress or so) It becomes perfect! I was watching a movie last nighttime, and really was craving chocolate cake, so I got up and fabricated this one for the starting time time, and during the commercial suspension none the less!! Prepared the concoction during the offset commercial interruption, and put in the bowl and microwaved it during the second! How fast is that! And let me tell you, it is really skilful. I added chocolate fries to the concoction to get in fifty-fifty more chocolatey, and after fabricated a quick nutella & milk frosting to embrace the rest of the cake. One affair I would advise is not to air-condition it, information technology becomes hard when yous practice. It actually is a skilful cake, and would brand once again. Love the idea of making information technology without the fuss of preheating the oven, and using lots of dishes and pans. So fast and easy!

Really very good, and so easy! I would give v stars, but I had to use slightly different ingredients. I used iii/4C sugar as another reviewer suggested, used canned kokosnoot milk instead of regular milk, and dry chocolate malt mix instead of cocoa (coconut milk and malt mix were all I had). I mixed it all upward, and put it in the fridge. Every day I am going to microwave nearly 1/iii of a cup to have dessert for ane - about five days worth. I just finished one picayune cake, and it is non lacking at all for sweetness!
01/20/2008
For a microwave cake that is done in 3 minutes... a definite 5 star! My husband's response was "why bother baking them anymore!" I did add an extra 1/ii cup of sugar and an extra tablespoon of cocoa per other reviewers. I'thou glad I did b/c it was perfect!
06/02/2008
I think this recipe works better if you utilize 1/ii - 3/4 C. sugar, ii TBSP. cocoa powder & melt 2 oz. of milk chocolate (or whatever you prefer) with your butter and cream information technology together, then add sugar and other ingredients. I used stiff coffee in place of the milk to heighten the chocolate flavour. Spilt the batter into two heavy microwave condom cereal bowls and permit them become for near 2 min. 15 seconds. In order for them to be really flavorful, I allow them sit down and go along to carryover cook, I removed the cakes and glazed them with a simple chocolate butter coat. I then covered them in foil and let them sit down for about 8 hours. They came out tender & chewy, more like a brownie than a block. Simply don't employ too much cocoa powder or yous volition have one dry, biting cake. These would be great for sleep parties, simply because they are easy to brand and fun to decorate- they have potential to be really cute, and yummy.

I made this recipe merely a few minutes agone. I was searching for a quick cake to reward my hubby with and this actually did the pull a fast one on. I adapted the sugar after reading previous reviews and instead put merely a petty less than 3/4 cup. I didn't accept any cocoa and so I ended up making a yellow cake. I followed the directions all the way through merely added an additional minute to cooking because I'grand in the mountains. I also made a quick "chocolate" icing by putting virtually 3 tablespoons of nutella into a microwave safe loving cup and heated for about i minute. I and then added about a tablespoon of milk to the nutella and stirred information technology upwardly to go far easier to spread. And so I merely spead the mixture on the top of the cake. Succulent! Peachy for a microwave block.
08/04/2008
Wow, loved this recipe! But fabricated information technology and only used a third of the basin, put it in a microwaveable mug and presto - cake in a cup! Only affair I changed was instead of cocoa I used a chocolate milk drinkable pulverization (contains generally cocoa and sugar) and that was only because I didn't have cocoa. I think to post this as a single serving dessert is a mistake as that's a lot of chocolate cake for i craving but it'due south totally worth making even if you have a mini cake a day for a few days. Brill quick and like shooting fish in a barrel recipe, cheers Laura! :-)
11/03/2007
Awesome cake!I've never made microwave cake earlier and so I was surprised that it came out exactly like a broiled cake! It tastes best directly out of the microwave. If you leave it for too long it goes difficult. I added i/2 cup of sugar.
10/12/2007
This was non skillful at all. I read the reviews before I tried it and I fabricated the recommended adjustments. I even tried to consume it with hot fudge and ice cream, merely that didn't assist the gustatory modality. Some things, I judge, just shouldn't exist fabricated in the microwave!
01/04/2008
When I made this cake I only used 1/ii cup of saccharide and 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder and I thought it was too sweetness. I used a GE Spacemaker Ii microwave and information technology took 4 minutes.
06/01/2008
This is slap-up for a quick chocolate cake gear up. I nuked butter + sugar for 30 sec to soften, then tossed the residuum of the ingredients into the basin, making the recommended changes: i/two cup of sugar, generous tsp of vanilla, 4 Tbsp of cocoa powder, and 1/2 tsp of baking powder. There's no demand to combine the dry ingredients in a separate bowl -- i fewer basin to wash. Information technology tasted exactly similar it was broiled in the oven, minus the crispy summit/sides. It was very chocolaty, moist, and evenly done in my cheap microwave. Highly recommend!
04/29/2009
This is pretty adept as is, but with a few revisions information technology becomes fabulous. 1. Up the sugar to ane/ii c. total (not an additional 1/2 loving cup - that would exist sickly sweet) 2. Up the cocoa to 3 heaping tablespoons 3. Add together a handful of chocolate chips 4. Lower the cooking time to 1 1/2 minutes. That gives it a gooey, molten chocolate consequence that is fabulous. This recipe is unsafe!
10/03/2010
Mmm, with the suggested changes of 3/4c sugar and some extra cocoa powder (I roughly measured, 2-3tbsp) this was a good block, fantastic when you consider information technology came out of a microwave. The serving size is probably closer to 4. I idea it was especially dense and moist. Thanks very much for sharing, I'll be making this again.
12/13/2010
I as well used the modifications and this came out prissy and rich, I remember I'll tweak it a bit and endeavor it again some other time.
06/02/2008
For season and convenience, this totally gets v stars! Don't expect a texture like a baked cake, it's not the same. This is denser. My girl and I loved this cake. I concluded up not cooking information technology quite long enough, then there was still a bit of gooey batter on the bottom of the bowl when I inverted the cake. Being the "food condom expert" that I am, I just spread the concoction on top of the cake like frosting. It tasted great, only next time I'll make sure information technology's cooked all the mode! :)
12/15/2007
After reading some reviews, I used 1/2 cup of sugar + double the cocoa pulverisation. I as well mixed in chocolate chips and microwaved it for about 3-4 minutes. Topped with a piddling scrap of powdered sugar and chocolate syrup, it was pretty expert!
03/13/2011
My child got a microwave bake and decorate kit. The lilliputian block mixes for it are SO expensive and but make 3 lilliputian cakes. I used this recipe and she had virtually 18 picayune cakes to decorate. Much cheaper than the commercial mix and gustation improve too.
05/12/2010
I used hot cocoa mix instead of cocoa pulverization. I doubled the amount and halved the saccharide. Otherwise, I followed the recipe advisedly. When I was mixing it, the butter would get creamy. Information technology was really gross-looking. I cooked it anyhow (took 2 1/two minutes) and it still looked weird...half of information technology was rise out of the bowl like a monster. I tried some and it was very good! Not much chocolate flavor, so I poured Hershey's chocolate sauce all over it. That did the trick. Information technology was adept, worth trying, just information technology would be easier to proceed some chocolate chips on manus in case of a chocolate craving.
eleven/03/2009
Terrific. The chocolate peckish hitting, and this fit the bill perfectly. I followed others suggestions and made it a bit sweeter, then while information technology was warm, I glazed it with a mix of Hershey'southward chocolate syrup and powdered sugar - about 2 Tbsp. each. Yum. This is definitely a keeper.
11/19/2011
Make this! The sense of taste needs minor work, more than cocoa & vanilla for sure and probably chocolate fries. But the texture is spot on and it's sooooo easy.
07/06/2008
I followed the other suggestions and added the extra ingredients and just had to cook 1 1/ii minutes, it came out perfect. I added some chocolate chips likewise and cooked it in a coffee cup.
01/29/2011
I loved this cakei made it to put on ice foam, fabulous! I use 3/iv loving cup sugar and 3tbs unsweeted pulverization instead it was sweet and rich. the cake tasted more like a browny just still good.
02/03/2009
I'm thrilled and terrified at the same fourth dimension....finding this recipe makes tardily-dark cake super accessible. :) Oh boy..
01/01/2011
I used iii/4c. carbohydrate every bit recommended . . . maybe a fleck sweetness, would do less next time. For a obviously chocolate cake, I would try mayhap iii Tablespoons Cocoa Powder adjacent fourth dimension. *I also did a batch with 2 mashed bananas and mini chocolate chips mixed in. That was super cracking!
02/eighteen/2011
I followed the recipe exactly, except using 3/4 c of sugar and iii tbsp cocoa per other reviews. Baked it in an 8x5" drinking glass dish, loosely topped with a plastic lid. I had problem getting information technology to cook evenly; a big chunk on one side was nonetheless raw after 4 minutes, while other parts were getting overdone. The flavor is skilful, but the texture was not like regular block, more like a cakey brownie - very dumbo and grainy. I think a sparse dark chocolate glaze would've soaked in and made it nicer, merely regular buttercream frosting wasn't bad, and information technology was best without any frosting at all.
09/24/2011
I read the reviews and added the extra 1/2 cup carbohydrate and actress Tbsp of cocoa and information technology HIT THE SPOT!!! I am definitely adding this to my recipe book! I used an older shallow CorningWare dish... it was perfect- I even covered information technology with plastic wrap and it turned out Perfect!!! Excellent recipe.
05/14/2011
such an easy n brand-in-a-jiffy cake for my later dinner sweet craving!! so easy to put together!! Practise INCREASE THE SUGAR TO 1/2 CUP though.. will make it in ramekins side by side time for that molten lava cake kinda wait!! def a keeper!!
02/28/2008
Really slap-up and really easy. I added the baking soda equally recommended in previous reviews (1/2 tsp), however I kept the carbohydrate the same - but I similar my cakes a little less sugariness. For an nice warm spice, add a chip of nutmeg and cinnamon to the batter and drizzle it with hot cocao sauce (cocao powder with a little hot milk and sugar).
eleven/18/2010
Just made this cake and it was phenomenal! I divided the recipe into iii because I didn't want as well much, just enough to satisfy my sweet tooth. Concluded up with this moist, tasty chocolate cake. Used brown sugar, not-fatty milk, and whole wheat flour. Yum yum!
07/xx/2008
I enjoyed this block and it was fun to brand information technology in the microwave. I added one/2 cup sugar and a total of ane/ii t baking soda as suggested. I placed pecan pieces and chocolate chips on top of the cake before I placed information technology in the microwave and when I brought it out they were on the lesser and a overnice touch.
02/02/2011
So practiced!!!
12/09/2008
for microwave cake...this was awesome! I used 1/2 c carbohydrate instead of 1/iv and I frosted my cake by mixing up some cream cheese and powdered sugar...information technology hit the spot! Thanks for the recipe!!
01/05/2009
This recipe tin too be made in a rice cooker, for those (rare people) who don't have an oven or a microwave. Information technology is great for people with low supplies and facilities!
03/30/2009
This cake is SOOOOO good! My daughter and I are wolfing information technology down right at present! I'm going to have to brand it again this evening, so my hubby tin can try it! :) I did change it a picayune. I added 1/2 c. of white sugar instead of 1/four, and 3 T. of cocoa instead of 2. I also added a handful of chocolate chips to the batter, and a big spoonful of sour cream. Yum, yum, yum!
03/11/2009
I tried this recipe with my senior students who exercise a college dorm food unit of measurement. I had them mix ingredients in a big ziplock bag and afterward "squeezing" out the corner, we broiled information technology in a pyrex pie plate. All 5 kitchens had a bit of a different fashion of "measuring", but all agreed it was practiced chocolate flavor and many commented that information technology was better than they had expected. We added more sugar and more than cocoa pulverisation as was suggested. I am curious equally to what others used for the blistering dish.
08/02/2011
This smelled good but tasted nothing like chocolate cake. Information technology was chewy and had a weird aftertaste. Won't make this again.
05/09/2008
This cake is wonderful for a late dark ophidian. It is non very sweet, so I merely added i/two loving cup of sugar and 1 TLBS. of cocoa. Later on doing so, this is a block I will make fourth dimension and time again. Thanks!
06/28/2012
I like this block. Information technology turns out well and is easily adaptable. I like it as a peanut butter cake, peculiarly. I but exchange 2/3 of the butter for peanut butter. If I want to leave out the cocoa, I replace it with flour. This recipe works well for me.
06/22/2007
This was good for a quick chocolate fix, though I would have loved for it to exist more chocolatey. I remember I would increase the cocoa powder (and perhaps the sugar) a little if making it again.
09/02/2011
Awesome recipe! I didn't have coca powder on hand so I used 1 tbsp of instant java (and some hot water to deliquesce it in) instead. The cake turned out moist and succulent. I also added shut to 1/4c saccharide.
10/07/2009
This was definitely good for the amount of time and endeavor information technology takes. I Dearest the fact that information technology is fabricated in the microwave. I but wish information technology was richer. I like a very rich, night chocolate flavor. I did use the three/iv c saccharide and 3 tbl cocoa. I also added in some mini semi-sugariness chocolate chips and sprinkled more on peak before cooking. Information technology was very moist -- amend than cooking bootleg cakes in the oven, how they seem to get dry out, especially on the bottom. Have the milk handy when eating! I will definitly make this over again when I find the house void of all other chocolate. UPDATE: I originally gave this 4 stars, just it was a 5 star breakfast with coffee the next forenoon! I left information technology covered on the counter overnight and the adjacent day information technology was fifty-fifty improve! Not hard as some of the other reveiws said.
05/04/2007
Non the greatest chocolate cake recipe, BUT, just what I need sometimes when I want a quick gear up. Nifty hot with ice cream. thank you
05/02/2007
I didn't intendance for this.
04/27/2010
realy good, merely kinda taste like frozen diner cake.
01/29/2010
I made this block yesterday since we just moved and don't have a stove nevertheless I take no other mode to cook than a mircowave. It was great! Much better than I expected. It's dense similar a brownie and tasted succulent with chocolate frosting. I used Betty Crocker rich and creamy chocolate. I prefer dumbo cakes to light blusterous ones anyhow. I did accept the suggestions listed and increase sugar. I used three/4 loving cup and doubled the recipe for the entire cake, which fit nicely into a square 8x8in pan. My microwave is a picayune slow so I cooked it for 6 minutes..perfect! This was so piece of cake for someone who doesn't broil ofttimes like myself.
09/24/2008
This was really good. I put chocolate bit and butterscotch fries while it was baking and when information technology was washed i drizzled chocolate syrup over it. It was real simple and decadent with the above additions. Thanks!*****I made this again recently and substituted the butter with unsweetened applesauce and it came out so nice. Information technology was actually fluffy!
04/08/2009
Nosotros used to make a similar block in our college dorm, only we used a coffee cup. iv Tablespoons cake flour 4 Tablespoons carbohydrate 2 Tablespoons cocoa ane Egg 3 Tablespoons milk iii Tablespoons oil Instructions: Mix flour, sugar and cocoa stir in egg, milk and oil, mix well microwave 3 minutes on high wai till it stops rising and sets in the mug tip onto plate, add together whip cream, enjoy!
10/02/2008
Good 3 serving cake but I wouldn't make a big batch for a lot of people-best if left int he frig over night
07/07/2010
I thought this was great. Based on the reviews and my own taste, I added an extra half cup of saccharide and an actress heaping teaspoon of cocoa pulverisation, and nearly a quarter cup of choc. chips. I needed to microwave it for an extra minute because it was gooey in the centre after 2 1/2, but it came out Delicious! Incredibly rich and moist. I can definitely run into it with some cool whip on peak. I might pick some upwardly subsequently so we can have it for dessert, this evening! Cheers!
07/31/2009
This does what y'all need information technology to do at 1 am. I added the suggestions of using three/4 cup of sugar and 1 more spoon of cocoa. Information technology actually has a better than average gustatory modality. Will make again.
05/08/2008
Splendid quick chocolate cake. I had a craving for chocolate cake but did not want to get through the mess of making i nor did I want a lot of leftover cake. I made this cake in my Pampered Chef mixing bowl, cooked it in the basin, and my husband and I ate it out of the bowl. One bowl no mess & a yummy cake. I did accept the suggestions into consideration and used ane/ii Cup of Sugar and 3T of cocoa. Very good ~ I will make this once again :)
07/15/2007
yuck, even my iii yr erstwhile hated it
09/08/2009
I tried this recipe last nighttime and information technology was not to my liking. Even with the addition of sugar and actress chocolate. The only good office of this was the texture. Will non make this again!
01/31/2010
I am pretty sure that this was my microwave's fault (practiced old student housing), but mine turned out like soup with a layer of block on summit later 2 and one/two minutes. Do I wish I'd cooked it longer? HECK NO! It was the most succulent, gooey thing I have had in a long time. My chocolate craving was more than satisfied, and my roommates had to finish it off for me. I took others' suggestions and added the extra saccharide and cocoa powder, and it was heaven. Ten stars.
12/07/2010
I'm in Indonesia at present, no oven just microwave, found this choc cake recipe and have now made it three times, went downward very well with Republic of indonesia family members especially with english language custard, give thanks you a corking recipe.
04/28/2010
I merely made this cake, also looking for a way to satisfy my random chocolate cake peckish. It was sincerely easy to make but I ended upwards cooking mine for about iv minutes. The cake was a little dumbo and didn't gustation astonishing or annihilation. But it was practiced plenty to satisfy my craving forth with a glass of milk. I'd brand this again for a rainy 24-hour interval, for sure.
08/13/2009
Definitely satisfied our chocolate peckish. I made information technology without looking at the reviews showtime because I was in a rush doing information technology during commercial breaks while watching Boob tube. I didn't have any whole eggs so I used Egg Beaters. Information technology came out great! It does make a lot fifty-fifty for two people. It definitely needed more chocolate season so next time I will use more cocoa powder (with extra saccharide to counter the bitterness) or melted chocolate. Information technology deserves five stars for existence so piece of cake, simply I took it down 1 star for flavor and texture.
06/02/2008
Wow. Great block. Fast, easy, and delicious. I took others' communication and used i/2 cup saccharide, 3 tbsp cocoa and 1 tsp baking pulverisation. I too used margarine instead of butter and rice milk instead of cow milk. Information technology's almost a different recipe. Hehe. I baked it 3 1/2 minutes in my microwave and information technology came out perfect.
08/xiii/2011
Perfect for a quick fix. Merely modify I fabricated was using ii/iii cups sugar. Topped cake with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Then skillful.
02/xiv/2010
Needed a quick gear up... this worked cracking. Added choc chips and sprayed the dish that I used well with Pam. I fabricated a chocolate ganache to drizzle over it.
08/06/2010
I actually idea this was a picayune rich, and definitely too much for single serving! BUT it was pretty good. I as well increased the sugar, and slathered it in chocolate syrup- could exist why it was too rich for me!- I volition definitely make it again!
06/01/2010
Wonderful block for a midnight craving. Moist, warm, yummy. I did add the extra ane/ii cup of sugar and 1T of cocoa. And as I was out f vanilla extract, I used coconut excerpt and information technology is and then yummy!
05/23/2010
um WOW. i just made this, using 3/4 loving cup of sugar, 2 1/2 tablespoons of hershey'due south special night cocoa, and fatty gratuitous half & half instead of milk. when it came out of the microwave (perfectly cooked after two minutes, i might add), i drizzled mr. mcgillicuddy's vanilla liqueur and some more half & half on superlative. i am in Heaven.
05/21/2009
This is a stellar recipe! I've fabricated information technology twice at present, one time with the amount of sugar specified in the recipe and once cutting the sugar down to my taste and adding some dark chocolate shavings. (I judge sweetness is a YMMV issue, but I am surprised by the number of people who are putting in a half-cup of sugar or more into this single-serving recipe! It'south lovely as written. Oh, well, as the Scotsman said, it'southward a adept affair we don't all like the same things--think what an oatmeal shortage there would be!.) I microwaved the get-go cake to the specified time, and the cake was a tad dry, but that's simply my microwave. The 2d fourth dimension I microwaved it for a minute and alter, and it was lovely and gooey. Both made lovely cakes, and I can see using them for dissimilar things. The drier recipe will be good when I desire to use information technology equally a base of operations for ice cream or straight cream (lightly sweetened heavy cream with brandy or whiskey, yum!), or I tin make the moister version when I want pure chocolatey gooiness. Next I want to experiment with applesauce or prune puree in place of the butter. Thanks for posting this!
01/25/2009
This recipe was exactly what i was looking for! it was piece of cake and erady in minutes, information technology took me nearly 7 bminutes full to brand. i followed the suggestions and raised the sugar to one/2 cup and the cocoa to 3T, it was perfect. i also ate it with a cream cheese frosting!
05/11/2010
I made this recipe with the recomended variations: 1/2 cup more carbohydrate and one tbs more cocoa. It turned out great. For frosting I mixed 1 cup cream with 3 tbs carbohydrate, one tsp vanilla and a footling melted chocolate and three tbs cocoa and it tastes like ice cream! I will definitely brand this over again this week!!
05/12/2010
This cake was decent. Still, information technology was on the hard side. I might accept microwaved it too long. I too think that information technology is unhealthy to microwave information technology. In my opinion, information technology is easier to but steam it for twenty to 30 min. Thanks for the thought.
02/18/2008
This wasn't "TO DIE FOR...", but it was a bully substitute for "the real thing" in a compression, just after the kids went down, before a film with husband. I used 1/2 cup Chocolate-brown sugar and ii tablespoons Hershey's Dark cocoa... it was good! It did accept close to four minutes in my full-size microwave - I cooked in a 4 qt size round corningware with the glass chapeau. Be conscientious not to utilise too much cooking spray if you get that route... manner to go, to a pregnant craving mom! I never created anything this expert under those circumstances! =)
06/xiii/2008
sooo easy and tastes good too. i adjusted information technology alittle due to others reviews. one/two cup sugar, iii tbs. cocoa, ane/4 loving cup cho. chips, and cooked it three 1/2 min. let it sit for virtually 10 min. put whipped cream on it and it was delicious. no demand to allow it sit down, merely i simply liked it a little drier. cheers laura for a cracking recipe!
05/08/2009
First try...made it as the recipe says. It was okay, my very young kids liked information technology, just it was dry out and not chocolatey enough. I but cooked it 2 minutes, simply it was very over done. I will try again, with a little extra sugar, extra cocoa, and only cook information technology xc seconds. Improve to be moist and gooey than had and tough!
05/01/2007
THIS WAS THE BEST MICROWAVE Cake I HAVE Ever Fabricated AND TASTED. I LOVE THIS AND YOUR ARE Fabulous SHARING THIS WIT THE Globe AND ME!!!! LOTS OF Cheers TO Y'all AND WHO E'er MADE THIS!!!
08/21/2011
I increased the sugar to a little more than 1/two cup. I likewise increased the cocoa powder to 3 Tb. Information technology came out great for a microwaved cake!
12/15/2010
Ok, followed the recipe exactly and kept a precipitous eye on my microwave. I got an eggy-tasting brown mess. Didn't sense of taste good at ALL. And so, I tried it over again at my buddy's house thinking it was my microwave. One time once again, eggy gross-ness. Tin can't say I'd recommend this one....
07/03/2011
god cake! piece of cake, tasty, chocolatey! Used Margarine instead of butter and dutch processed cocoa (Kroger brand)=crawly!
08/01/2011
I loved this recipe! I live in a college dorm and I am fasting. This made me so happy! The only reason I gave it iv stars is considering it was a little dry. Information technology is perfect with ice cream though.
01/21/2009
This was great! I made the suggested changes. Information technology worked wonderfully information technology was quick, rich, chocolatey, and user-friendly. I would definitely practice it a over again.
03/30/2009
i enjoyed this recipe and followed others recommendations to add more sugar and cocoa. just i loved how quick it took and the gustatory modality. very yummy!
09/09/2008
Smashing for a microwave cake! I doubled the carbohydrate and cocoa, and added some frozen berries on top, delicious. Only I could not seem to flip it over on to some other plate so nosotros just ate it out of the bowl! :D
01/21/2015
It had a weird palatableness and it wasn't very soft.
08/24/2010
This was bully on a hot nighttime when I didn't want to use the oven. I fabricated it as directed and the sweet was just right, only I like night chocolate and not the over-sweetened kind.
04/02/2008
As I was making this I expected it to be not so practiced, merely it was surprisingly practiced. Not similar a block from a high stop baker, but better than a block mix block (I hate cake mix cakes). The texture was a chip off--a petty spongy, simply the taste was fine. Also, I halved the recipe (I could tell it would make more than one serving) and made it healthier--calorie-free butter, skim milk, Splenda.
10/15/2007
so yummy!
06/06/2008
This probably isn't the best tasting cake I've made, only it's and then quick and piece of cake I had to give it 5 stars. If you brand upward a simple icing to get with it information technology's neat for a fast dessert.
07/07/2009
Pretty skilful! I'chiliad a big baker, so I wasn't expecting a microwave cake to exist so moist. I followed others' reviews and used 3/4 cups sugar and 3 Tbsp. cocoa, simply I think I'll reduce the sugar to 1/two cup next time. Nice quick treat that doesn't rut up the business firm!
01/21/2010
easy to make and in that location's simply a bowl and a few spoons to clean up will brand again :)
04/21/2009
WOW!!! I dearest this!! It's actually easy and greAT!!!!
09/21/2007
Flavour-wise, this is a 3 1/two... convenience-wise, this is a 6. I took the advice of others and added just under 1/two c. extra saccharide. I think I'll add a piddling less next fourth dimension, withal, maybe enough to total i/2 loving cup. I added one/3 c. chocolate chips but will decrease to one/4 loving cup. Although the addition makes it taste good, it makes it rather sludgy. I agree with another reviewer that the cake itself was not chocolaty enough. I volition be doubling the coca powder next time... and there will be a side by side fourth dimension. I think I shall make this once a month to cure my chocolate craving!
04/10/2009
Dearest this recipe. Was making this at night for me and my friend, and it turned out great! Forget to put the grease, and the cake was stuck... Used a knife to scratch the cake out. Despite the look, it sense of taste bully!!!

I have to endeavour this one again because I microwaved the heck out of it. I tested with my trusty cake tester and continued microwaving until it came out clean. This is NOT the way to practice it. My block looked beautiful, merely turned into a concrete brick. haha. I give the batter 4 stars.

i have tried 2 variations of this recipe in the last... less than 24 hours ;) ... i had a difficult nighttime at piece of work last dark! The chocolate flavour is there.. BUT the texture is not... mine have just come up out a gummy-rubbery mess. Not the chocolatly goodness you get from a bake in the oven cake or brownine. Skilful luck! ps. the first recipe was one i got in an email... minus the butter and baking soda

When you have a chocolate attack, this recipe does the trick. Eaten right away, this block is moist and chocolaty, but if left to sit down, it will dry. After reading all the reviews, I made some changes: increase saccharide and cocoa and add chocolate fries. I did utilize Splenda Blend Saccharide (1/4 cup) and dutch cocoa (4 level T.). The result hitting the spot and quelled my chocolate craving...for now! Thanks for the recipe Laura!

I'thou rating this a 5 considering it met all my expectations. I didn't expect it to gustatory modality as proficient as my cakes baked in the oven. I did add together a little bit more sugar and less cocoa as brash. Next fourth dimension I'll not lessen the cocoa. Thinking I might effort leaving the cocoa out sometime and adding lemon juice (reducing the milk a petty). It'due south simply dandy when you need an emergency dessert, Serve with some strawberries or peaches, yum.

This was disgustingly easy! It was astonishing, and and so fast! I had no thought that anything like this was even possible. I used some of the suggestions posted past other people and used iii/4 saccharide (birthday) and 3 tbsp of cocoa. Information technology was really good, especially if your merely craving chocolate carbs! Side by side time I think chocolate chips would take it out of this world!

simply micro-ed it now.. smells.. very good, used lindtt'southward orange chocolate thins instead of coco, and put probably a bit more butter and so needed.. really really moist... also substituted the egg with bk powder, milk and oil - still waiting for it to cool.. verdict *later 5 minutes* EXTREMELYYYY moist and OOOOoooo and then succulent, non for the type that loves sweet, because it has a minor orangy tang to it, and but a piffling sweet at the end.. yumm! cheers for the reciepe!!!!

Delicious! I took the reviewer's advice and tripled the sugar and added an extra tbsp of cocoa. Information technology's non "I will never cook in the oven over again" good, but it's definitely the best 5-minute cake recipe I've ever had. I baked mine in a ceramic quiche dish. Give-and-take from the wise: let this cool twice every bit long as it says- at LEAST 10 minutes, if not 20. I tried to plow mine out after 5 and the centre didn't come out. Next fourth dimension I'll let it cool longer and ice information technology.

I added sugar and cocoa powder every bit suggested and this still came out tasting flour-y. The consistency was practiced, though. With nutella and a glass of milk, I enjoyed it, but I couldn't handle information technology plainly.

I'k only giving it four stars because I did add the 1TB cocoa and one/2 c. sugar instead of what the recipe calls for. Simply actually moist and made enough for 3 servings for me. Swell chocolate fix! Thank you!

This recipe is astonishing - my friends still can't believe I can make such a adept moist cake in the microwave! I follow the previous suggestions and doubled the cocoa pulverisation and carbohydrate. However, it's still non as chocolaty equally I usually like, and so I think I'll add some melted chocolate side by side time. I made this with chocolate fudge sauce, and in 15 minutes I had a great dessert. Information technology's perfect stodge for my Scottist wintertime! Definately a keeper when I don't have time to cook or pre-heat the oven.
